Well, I must admit that I'm in a bit of a cooking rut. Actually, no, that isn't completely true. I have lots of ideas for recipes for the book, but it's not easy to get people together to test them. I can't make a full batch of something just for myself or it will go to waste.
Now we're getting to the tricky part. How many recipes to share? How long to keep them online if I do decide to share them? If I put them all online, what's the point of compiling them into a book?
I do still plan to share some recipes, so don't worry about that. If you were worried in the first place, that is. heh. Here are some things that have come out of my kitchen or will come out of my kitchen soon.
Beef and Stout Pie (for the book. delicious.)
Mushroom Soup (recipe already shared with y'all)
Pumpkin Samosas (Samhain recipe to test)
Meatloaf (tonight's dinner. should I include a meatloaf recipe or not?)
I might not post every single test recipe, but I am going to do my best to post more pictures of the making of the recipes. My kitchen is small, the lighting is bad, and my camera is cheap, so bear with me.
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

I'm in favour of sharing the recipes online for two reasons: 1) Your readers can test out things for you! We may have need for full batches of stuff and we can share results with you. 2) Even if you publish every recipe that'll appear in the book online, that doesn't mean it's pointless. People *love* to have books they can hold in their hand where everything is already compiled for them and each entry has beautiful pictures. There's something special about a real cookbook, yanno?
Anyway! Just my two cents on the matter. Anything you wind up doing will be totally perfect, though. Looking forward to seeing more deliciousness soon! :3
Ellison,
Great thoughts! Thank you very much for your imput. After I wrote the post, I had a similar thought. Sure people could have a lot of the recipes online, but it's not the same as having them all collected together, indexed, maybe with a few pictures or at least illustrations. Thanks again!
The Samaosas sound absolutely delicious! I hope you try them and let us know how you like it. I love Indian food and curry with pumpkin is one of my favorite combinations.
I'm compiling a personalized cookbook for my family, so I start to understand your problems... and I'd totally offer to test-cook for you. (^v^)
(I'd even promise not to use any of the stuff in the family cookbook.)
